The Smile in the Mirror The Mirror Didn't Blink
The power went out as Maya was brushing her hair late at night. As she stared in the bathroom mirror at her own reflection, she sighed. However, something seemed off. She drew nearer. Too quickly, her reflection leant back. Before she could react, it flashed. Frozen, Maya raised her hand. The reflection imitated her before smiling. Maya didn't look happy. She retreated, her heart racing. Stepping forward, the reflection pressed its hand against the glass. A crack appeared on the mirror all of a sudden. Maya's lips remained stationary as the room reverberated with a whisper: > "I've waited so long... to replace you." The lights went out completely. Only the mirror was empty when they came back on.
